Salvation for Your Kitchen Aid Mixer

beater.jpgSeveral years ago, I was fortunate enough to review the SideSwipe blade for the Kitchen Aid stand mixer. The thing was a powerhouse, keeping my bowl sides scrapped and everything fully mixed every time.

Unfortunately, I loved it so much that I wore it out. Turns out heavy usage does make the little mini blades weaken and crack. (By heavy usage, I mean using it 200 times or more. That baby did a ton of work around here.)

So I was searching Amazon for another SideSwipe when I came across the BeaterBlades. I am intrigued. So far, it’s gotten three rave reviews on Amazon, so I think that is a good sign. If you have a different stand mixer, don’t feel left out — this blade is available for other mixers too.

Beaterblade Cracks.

After using the blade for about a dozen times for mostly cake mixes and frostings, it developed a number of cracks in the base of the stem. I stopped using it because I’m afraid I’ll get shards in my mixes.

Has anyone else reported this problem?

Have you returned it to the manufacturer? I’m sure they would want to know about it.
