Diced Vegetables Made Easy
While I am an admitted gadget addict, I don’t always buy into those I see on those TV infomercials. My kids often tell me, I need this one or that one and I tell them they are a marketer’s dream! I tend to be a bit more skeptical, until I hear from someone else who has purchased a new kitchen gadget that it’s worth the money and will make dinner prep easier.
Enter the Alligator AG1 Onion / Vegetable Dicer! I received this gadget as a gift and had heard from several other people that this will make short work of dicing anything you choose. My first test was to dice up an onion. First, you should slice the onion into the size you need for your recipe. The photo is a bit misleading, since it does show the whole onion placed in the gadget. You can put 2 or 3 slices on the dicing area and simply push down on the top which has razor sharp grid for cutting. Incredibly, you will have perfectly diced onions, or any other vegetable), in a matter of moments.
My next concern was whether the clean-up would be difficult. It is comprised of 3 pieces that all come apart very easily. There is a plastic cleaning device that will allow you to lift out any bits that get stuck in the plastic grid. All pieces clean up in a snap and go back together without having to read a manual.
This has quickly become a favorite tool in my kitchen and I’m thrilled with how easy it is to use and clean. This gadget is now widely available at kitchen stores and on the internet.
