Before I fully realized my serious admiration for food and baking, I was one of the many who had rock hard brown sugar in the cupboard. My frustration level was always high when I woke up my neighbors when I banged and banged the brick-like bag on the counter in an attempt to break the granules apart. As if that weren’t enough, it was a bear of a task to get the hardened sweetness measured out, let alone worked into a recipe. Luckily, I eventually found relief that worked well: The Original Brown Sugar Bear™. A small, kiln-fired clay piece small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, this lil’ cub will fish out any moisture that attempts to overcome your reserve of brown sugary goodness.

A day passed before I interrupted the bear and sugar getting to know one another. The result? That is a cool lil’ bear. My mom always kept a piece of bread in her brown sugar with the same results. Whenever I find my brown sugar has gotten hard I do the same as her. The bear is MUCH cuter though!
