Celebrity cook Rachael Ray has popularized the concept of a “garbage bowl,” a bowl for you to stick on the counter while cooking to catch all your garbage and save all the endless trips to the garbage can.  So much so that she has come out with her own, you guessed it, line of garbage bowls.  Long before her brainstorm, I solved the problem by sticking a paper or plastic shopping bag on or near my counter to do the same thing … for free.

But if you like the garbage bowl concept and don’t want to spring for Rachael’s line, you might want to take a gander at this colorful set from the folks at Zak Designs.  A set of four will cost you $29.99, and you can snag them at La Prima Shops.  Best yet, they are made from recycled materials.
