This is awesome!! My husband works in construction outdoors, so his lunch options are only of the cold variety. It would be great if he could have one of these in his work trucks so that on cold days he could take soups or stews or leftovers from dinner and re-heat it for lunch. I think it's an excellent idea, although I certainly wouldn't take one camping.

I'm not a big fan of microwave cooking, either, but I've heard that it's great for re-heating cryovac'd bbq. They also boil water in a flash, which is handy for cleaning and making Postum. Being clean doesn't sound too disgusting.

What do I know, I've been known to grill over gas, too....don't tell anyone. ;-)

That is absolutely disgusting. It's bad enough that people don't cook in their kitchens anymore, but to take a microwave camping. It turns my stomach.
