Gotta Have Gadget: Roasted Garlic Express

Madeline of the site Everything Rachael Ray sent me a link to this recent Sacramento Bee review of a gadget that I’ve had my eye on for a while, the Roasted Garlic Express. If only I had more counter space….

If you like roasted garlic, check out the Roasted Garlic Express. It’s a countertop electric cooker that roasts garlic in less than 30 minutes, about half the time it takes in a regular oven.

You prepare the garlic bulb as you normally would for baking — cutting off the tips but leaving the peel and root attached. Drizzle it with olive oil and seasonings, then place it in the roaster. Close the lid and press the button. When roasted, the garlic turns sweet and nutty and it’s easy to spread. The roaster costs $34.95 at Sharper Image.”– Gwen Schoen
