A note from the editor

Welcome to The Cook’s Kitchen, the place on the Well Fed Network to find out about what cooking tools and ingredients to buy, whether you need them, and where to find them.

We all know that the food world is constantly changing and that new, quicker and easier ways to get food on the table are always touted as “life changing” when they are being introduced. As it turns out, some are good investments, and some are not. One thing is for sure, none of us have the time (or money!) to keep up with the latest and greatest of everything. So here at the Cook’s Kitchen, you will get to read reviews and tips from busy, passionate cooks like yourself who are also looking for new and better ways to get their food on the table.

We have so much to share with you from news and reviews about handy gadgets and products, to tips, techniques, shops and resources to enhance our time in the kitchen. Since this is, after all, a site about the kitchen, I’m looking forward to being able to also share memories and stories about the many ways that food and cooking can touch all of our lives in and outside the kitchen.

We have an exciting team of writers that we will introduce to you in the coming days. Some of them may be familiar to you already, but hopefully some will be new to you as well. The site will take a short while to gather steam, so please bear with us as we get rolling.

Lastly, I want to thank Cate O’Malley and Faith Kramer for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the network. To read more about me and our writers, check out the Bios page. We are always looking for writers and contributors, so feel free to email me at any time if you are interested.

Thanks for visiting, I hope to see you again and that we will all eat well and share in the discovery of new possibilities to explore The Cook’s Kitchen.

Hello Matt,

I applaud you for starting The Cook’s Kitchen and for asking me to contribute. I always enjoy your writing on The Hampton Smoker.

It looks like everything is beginning to shape up nicely.

Thanks, Brian! I really appreciate that. I’ve been reading your site for a while, too. I’m still jealous of that enclosed trailer of yours….and glad that you’ll be contributing here. I’m still trying to find some time for that essay contest on your site– I’d love to win a couple of bottles of that rub of yours…
